Oxygen Analyzer Low Pressure BC Inflator Hose Adapter

This item plugs into a standard Bouyancy Compensator Low Pressure Inflator Hose and provides a 3 liter per minute (lpm) flowate to your oxygen analyzer.  It has a 3/16" hose barb that is compatible with most manufacturers' oxygen analyzers.  Made from stainless steel and brass, it is corrosion resistant, easy to use, attractive in appearance, and very reliable.   Shown in the below picture plugged into a standard BC inflator hose providing 3 lpm as measured on the Dwyer flow meter.

Properly calibrating and using your oxygen analyzer will give you the best results.  Oxygen comprises 20.93% of dry air.   Any moisture (humidity) in the air used to calibrate your analyzer will dilute the remaining gases (Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon) and result in the inaccurate calibration of your analyzer. To get the most accurate reading from your oxygen analyzer, you should calibrate your analyzer with a known gas at a constant flowrate.  The oxygen content of dry air is a known value (20.93% oxygen).  Then analyze your Nitrox tank using he same flowate you used to initially calibrate the analyzer.  This LP inflator adapter makes it very easy to accurately calibrate your oxygen analyzer using regular SCUBA air and subsequently analyze your Nitrox tank. 1) Hook your regulator up to a SCUBA tank with air in it. 2) Plug in the BC Hose Flow Adapter to feed 3 lpm of air to your oxygen analyzer.  Calibrate your analyzer to 20.9% 3) Transfer the regulator to your Nitrox tank to analyze the contents.

Please note that the Dwyer flowmeter and tubing in the above picture do not come with the BC Hose Flow Adapter.  The Dwyer flowmeter is pictured above for display purposes only, and is not required.   The BC Hose Flow Adapter connects directly to the tubing that connects to your oxygen sensor.

The above flowmeter (RMA-26) is available with and without a throttling valve from Dwyer Instruments.  

3/16" Tygon tubing is available at most hardware stores.
